Flaming Arrow Ministries

A ministry to ministers and our community

Transformation through relationship filled with grace and truth

Why do we exist?

We Noticed

Many of God’s people start off energized by the Good News but over time become tired, disappointed, and disconnected.

Why does this happen?

Did the good news of Jesus Christ change?
Have we altered the good news in some critical way?
Are we missing some fundamentals?

No to the first. Probably yes to the second. Definitely yes to the third.

Take a quiet walk, a journey into rest

How about some Rest?

We know that one of the missing fundamentals is rest. God speaks clearly about this in Isaiah 30:15:

“In repentance and rest you will be saved,
In quietness and trust is your strength.
But you were not willing.” (NASB)

Here is another translation:

“Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves.
Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me—
The very thing you’ve been unwilling to do.” (MSG)

Rest is like tithes. It’s an expression of trust. Avoiding rest is a movement against our design. God rests. Jesus rested. It’s time you rested. Rest feels good.

Embracing repentance and rest is true worship and connection to YHWH (Tabernacle of David).

What about Repentance?

This is a word that we’ve misused. Repentance is a poor translation of the Greek word Metanoia. It does not mean:

“a remorseful penitent review of sins”.

It means:

“a transformative change of the mind/heart designed and empowered by the Spirit of God. (1)”

Unfortunately our egos like to show-off through grand acts. And “penance and remorse” become the grand acts of the “good”. It doesn’t help that religious organizations promote “penance and remorse” as the way to God.

Thankfully YHWH isn’t interested in building religions or sad robots. He would rather transform people by the power of His indwelling Spirit. Ahh, there it is: relationship at it’s best. God dwelling with humans. Could we be any more covered? The Father shelters us with His wings. The son lives in our hearts. Yeshua is the rock we stand on and the Word we speak. We have his mind. The Spirit guides and counsels us and even takes our bodies as His temple. Everywhere you look Jesus. Everywhere you go Jesus.

So “repent and be baptized” can be understood like this: “Change your mind/heart and walk fully immersed in Christ.”

Embracing repentance and rest leds us to the Tabernacle of David.

Rest, trust, receive

Flaming Arrow Has Four Ministry Focal Points

The Father's response to a child in need is like lightning

Just what is a Flaming Arrow?

The name was originally given to Stephanie Bloemendaal, the founder of this ministry. It’s a beautiful name but like many treasures you have to seek to find the meaning.
